Carowinds theme park in North Carolina has partnered with video games developer Electronic Arts (EA) to bring the world’s first ‘intra-active’ 3D game experience to visitors in spring 2016.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena is a unique 4D attraction that will see teams of guests compete in a five-minute battle, where they will shoot screens with blasters and track their scores as they go.

The new digital experience will feature 68 motion-based seats, two giant screens with surround sound and characters from the popular EA franchise.

The 3,600sq.ft attraction will be located inside the newly transformed Action Theater located in the County Fair section of Cedar Fair.

“This first-ever interactive Garden Warfare attraction from Carowinds will be unlike anything people have seen before and we can’t wait for them to experience it next spring,” said Jeremy Vanhoozer, senior creative director for EA’s Plants vs. Zombies franchise.

Mike Fehnel, Carowinds, vice president and general manager, added: “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare: 3Z Arena is another example of how Carowinds is committed to bringing unique and innovative experiences that the entire family can enjoy together.

“This wildly popular brand has such a universal appeal and aligns perfectly with our promise to deliver the best day experience ever.”
