Civil War Centre planned for UK
Newark and Sherwood District Council in Nottinghamshire, UK, is bidding for £3.5m (US$5.5m) of Lottery funding to create a National Civil War Centre.
The council hopes to turn the Old Magnus school buildings in Newark into a museum to celebrate the district's Civil War heritage and promote the history of the area. It is set to make a bid in February to the Heritage Lottery Fund to transform the Grade II* listed buildings in Appletongate. |
