Transformation of New York Aquarium tabled (0 views)A 10-year initiative has been drawn up to help transform the New York Aquarium into a world-class tourist destination and jump start the re-birth of Brooklyn's Coney Island. In a joint announcement by the Wildlife Conservation Society and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, among others, the project will include a state-of-the-art Ocean Wonders exhibit; a new Conservation Hall exhibit, showcasing several aquatic habitats under protection; and a refurbished and an Aquatheater. "A sea change at the New York Aquarium will establish once again WCS's leadership in Brooklyn's cultural environment and anchor the New York Aquarium in the renaissance of Coney Island," said Dr Steve Sanderson, president and CEO of the Wildlife Conservation Society. |
