According to Waft, the development of a theme park project would stimulate the construction industry at a time of economic downturn. He drew particular attention to the idea of a resort designed primarily for children.

"The Isle of Man needs to position itself so it can compete with others in the same market," he told local press. "Initiatives such as this can take many shapes and forms. We don't necessarily need to have what they call the white knuckle rides."
